Brief Venue Wedding Checklist
- What can they accommodate, where, what are capacities for inside spaces, what are sizes of pitches for marquees/ options for canopy locations?
- What time window do you get exclusive use of the site?
- Do they charge corkage or have exclusive bar rights- if so what are prices/ quality of drink on offer?
- Do they have a kitchen caterers can use?
- Are they licensed for marriage ceremonies?
- What time does amplified music have to be turned off at the end of the party?
- When can the wedding marquee be set up?
- Exactly what do they offer in terms of on the day support?
- Do they have proper electrical power supply or will a generator be required?
Smaller Venue Marquee Weddings
Depending on your guest list numbers & what spaces the venue has, you may need just some beautiful canopies & equipment to make use of a lovely part of the venue’s grounds for say a drinks reception or ceremony. At some venues which don’t have spaces large enough for dining together you may want a generous marquee for food or the evening reception with space for a bar & music performance.

Issues to consider
- Venues like this often have beautifully flet lawns which are superb for marquee wedding events. Such surfaces work equally well with wooden or matting flooring.
- Using a venue, you should have most requirements solved for you ( as part of venue service) such as car parking, toilets, power, bar organisation, but check what is included & ask us to help with any gaps you have.
- Access- sometimes venues restrict access until day before or Thursday before for Saturday wedding. Generally as we spend time getting things right for you, we prefer to set up on Wednesday to give you & your florist/ stylists/ decor artists/ table dressers time to work their magic without anything becoming a last minute rush…
- Does your venue free you to host your guests in a way that will make you feel relaxed & offer your guests a wonderful experience?
- Do the staff or owners of the venue host well to make you feel at home?
